Hello.
I am getting a code of, CEM-6C48 Transponder Type Faulty, after a scan on a 2004 Volvo V70 2.4l.
Was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this specific code?
Can this code cause limp mode?
Thank you.

The only information I can gather on this one is that it's usually not a problem with the key transponder or antenna ring despite the DTC description being suggestive of such.
First make sure the electrical connectors at the CEM are fully inserted/seated.
Assuming you used a VIDA to retrieve the code mentioned, check the immobilizer sequence in VIDA and post the results.
On an 04 this DTC alone with nothing else looks like it could be either a problem with the CEM, the ECU, or both. xemodex mentions something about needing to perform CEM-ECM "mating service" when a specific check in the immobilizer sequence fails which results in a condition where starter turns but the engine will not start/run (VIN check between ECU-CEM fails).
