So I noticed my "new" T5M has a boost spike @15psi rarly, somewhere around 3000 rpm. Then it drops drastically @ 40000 and eventually reaches 15 psi (guesstimate on the interior gauge, almost at the very end of the scale) above 5000 again.
My 96 R doesn't do that. My guess is the TCV or the lines ftom the TCV to the turbo.
Now, what do YOU think?

Something weird there as the I don't believe the standard engines should boost that high. The standard Volvo TCV is only rated to 12psi so above that it becomes random. I would be concerned someone has cranked the turbo boost.
TCV's do become weak with age, and especially struggle at 40000RPM! Seriously they can become random in operation as the age, as can the pipes to it due to splitting. Check them carefully.
Neil.

It feels like someone put a larger turbo or different ecu in it, but it was family owned by a guy who obviously never heard of preventive maintenance and then by his daughter in law.
The raw power on that thing is crazy, especially early on, but so not consistent. Will give vacum lines and turbo hoses a look.
Btw, with the stock exhaust the T5M sounds way meaner and grumblier under load than my 96R. Wondering if that is due to the factory reverse intercooler piping.
