Good source but also consider shipping. I have come close to ordering other parts from them and then when I noticed shipping costs, I have backed out and gone back to FCP....especially if you buy more than a certain amount and shipping is free. Don't forget Eeuroparts too...with our MVS discount it can be a good place. Also both Eeuro and FCP do price matching so get them to do that. It's a quick form and they usually get back to you within a day.

Supertech (yep, Walmart brand) or whatever they have at Costco or Sam's club, usually. People who drive these cars hard like Mobil 1. You definitely can't go wrong with the Maxlife.
Is Dex/Merc universal trans fluid okay?

Finished rebuilding the struts and axles with the mileage at 114915 indicated +63462 = 178,377.
Also did:
Brake calipers all around, rear pads and shoes, front and rear hoses.
Two transmission flushes, one when doing each axle and it finally looks clean.
Epoxied the fuel pump cover, and replaced the vent hose.
Replaced the clamp behind the cat, and the rear muffler hanger hardware.

Edit: Did the Cap, Rotor, and Wires today, got the Volvo/Bosch parts from RobertDIY
with late 2014 date code to replace our 2008 vintage parts. Followed this FCP video,
cap takes 8mm socket, rotor 3mm allen wrench:

Old dist parts look worn
but were still working fine, wires were very dirty. Newer parts look nearly new.
We were not getting any misfire codes, if anyone on a budget wants these ignition
parts let me know, otherwise they're going in the trash.

It's finally running really well, it has been mostly off the road since December 2016
son is anxious to get it back.

Windshield washer has not worked for a long time, we can hear the pump running, nice walk
through here at the 1997 850 Blog:
https://volvo850wagon.wordpress.com/201 ... #more-2491

I'm going to guess that it is the pump since the blog says that even if it makes the motor
sound it can have a mechanical failure. Meyle and Proparts replacements have bad
reviews, anyone have a good Volvo unit? Both 3rd party parts lasted less than 6 months.
Will test it soon.

Which pump do you need, front or rear?

We have the wagon, yes and we might need the front, maybe both.

I just took it out and seems odd that the pump outlet feeds a rubber hose,
with the hose having to take a sharp 90 degree bend - it seems kinked there.
Is this normal or has it been worked on?
Also, the filter has two outlets, I'm guessing one to feed the rear pump? But
one outlet goes up about 6", is cut and is open without any fitting. I'm going
to try fixing the kink, and running the pump to see if we get any flow later
today or tomorrow.

Edit: Fixed the kink and plugged the cut line, and the fronts now work, I'm thinking
that the second outlet might go to the headlight washers, if that makes sense.
Don't need a new pump it seems.

Edit: Reinstalling the pump was a bit strange, There is a piece of sheet metal
that is in the way of the outlet port when trying to slide the pump back in. I
bent the sheet metal up, making about 1/8" more room and with some manuvering
got the pump back in. I was very worried about stressing the plastic nipples and
cracking them. It is possible that the correct procedure for this is to drop the
tank, insert the pump, align the hose and push it back up - not sure. Also noticed,
that there is much more room for the hose to make the 90 degree bend below the
sheet metal but if you pull up on it and take up the slack then it forces a sharp
bend and kink.

The filter has two outlets, as I mentioned, one goes to a T when we ran
the washer after I plugged the second outlet from the filter I noticed
water spraying from under the front bumper. Seems the T feeds the
headlight washers, so I removed the T so that full force goes to the windshield.
