Electrical problem.

Post by mrreilly »

The stop lights on my 740 do not work. The center one works fine when the breaks are pressed, but not the two on the main ones. The previous owner tried replacing the circuit board, but that didn't do anything. I believe he tried changing the fuses too, but I might be wrong.
Any help on how to fix this? I'm going to be selling this car in about a months or so.

If the third brake light is working it can't be the fuse.

Have you checked for 12v at the other brake lights?

Do you mean to check to make sure there's a current?

Yes. Use either a multi-meter or a test lamp.

Ok, I'm pretty sure I've got one of those somewhere in the garage. I'll try and get to that in the next day or so.
