Volvo V70 2000-Text message window informtion ?

Hi all-i have a V70 2000 model and every now and then a text message pops up in the message window in the dash. Normally i understansd them and just sort out the problem, like change the bulb that is faulty etc. Today how ever it is saying "FULL GUARD". Can anyone tell me what this means as it is not in the owners manual and the Volvo dealers are rather expensive here. tx

I didn't think the Message Center was available on Volvo's until 2001. Where are you...that might help. Btw, I've never heard of that message either (and it's not in VADIS).

There is no led window in a 2000, you sure it's not an 01 (new body style)

Is this a European car? I think they were a model year ahead. My guess on anything pertaining to guard is an alarm issue since the Euro spec cars have Guard I and Guard II alarm systems.

Good call Lee, I think you're right about the "guard." I asked about location as I suspected the same about model year as you.

I am in South Africa and it is definetely a 2000. However this new shape V70 was only available in 2001 but this car belonged to one of the directors of Volvo so i believe he got the vehilcle before they went on sale here. The text FULL GUARD only stays on for a second or two and then disapears. i triggered the alarm the other day and a message appeared in the window to inform me so i am not sure if it is the alarm- Thank you all for the response, this forum is great!
