Two weeks ago a CL ad popped up on my search for a low mileage, unmolested, always garaged, very clean 850 base with auto trans. not too far from me.
I was intrigued and went to take a look at it. Too my surprise it was a one owner, very well cared for car with the timing belt done just last spring. It also had brand new Michelin tires on it and a recent oil change sticker from the local Volvo dealer. Also the trans. fluid was nice and pink. Did I mention that it was really cheap?
Unfortunately, the odometer stopped working at 88k. Based on the Carfax and other indicators I'm thinking it can't have more than 100k on it. The last oil change was due at 91k last spring. Right after that it was donated by the owner and then it got auctioned off, that's how it ended up at a local used car dealer.

Very clean, it's just like the '96 850GLT we had but mine had the '96 Platinum edition runs and that one has the turbo rims. Too bad it isn't a turbo model or '97 GLT w/light pressure turbo atleast . What a great car though, that's the Volvo that hooked my family on these great vehicles.

I hear you on the turbo but I'm actually at a point where I am totally fine with a N/A car. This is going to be my commuter car and around here you're just crawling along anyways. I actually used to own a 97' GLT (hence my user name) which I drove for 11 years and put almost 200k on. That was a fantastic car and a lot of fun to drive, but I'm more concerned about gas mileage now I guess.

The wheels were not on the the car when I got it by the way, it came with Cetus wheels as you would expect. The Perfos have snow tires on them and were on my XC. That was the first thing I swapped over.

So much fun being in an 850 again
