Wear/damage report
Clutch disc thickness new 9.5 mm
Old thickness 4mm. Right down on rivets.
Release bearing completely destroyed. Looks like it flew apart and detonated. Spring loose, bearings scattered. All over.
No cracks or scoring on either pressure plate (pp) or flywheel, both replaced.
Interesting, this car has the dual mass flywheel but not the self adjusting clutch, just a standard PP
P2 Clutch pressure plate flywheel release bearing slave cylinder - 2005 V70NAM56 clutch subframe engine drop Topic is solved

It is the lightest shifting car I have ever driven, period. There is a huge counterweight on the shift levers if you look in the pics.

Well "buttoning up" took a long 1/2 day today, just to get the subframe back in and the engine onto it s mounts
Two exceptions
One of the exhaust plate bolts won't thread...minor
The top bolt on the RHS engine mount (engine side near firewall) won't thread either. Its lined up nice. I will run it with 2/3 and deal with it on a lift next time Im up.
I need a new lower torque rod and front engine mount.
Wheels and hookups this weekend.
I also lost half day to a cancer scare on the dog - which turned out negative

Well, sneaked out of work at 1600, and just came back from ...
the test drive.
Did the last few loom brackets,.
Installed the clutch hydraulics - heads up to FCP who shipped me the wrong part, so put the old adapter back on. I bled clutch by just filling the master cylinder, loosening the 9mm bleeder, and pumping fluid up to a disposal bottle at the air cleaner, After about 20 pumps, I had clear new fluid with no bubbles, tightened bleeder, and felt pedal, It was really light but I could hear clutch action.
Installed MAF, air cleaner, tightened radiator hoses, filled with water (upcoming flush)
Reconnected battery....and ....vroom. Idled for 10 , topped off water.
Moment of truth - pushed the clutch down, which is feather light, then eased into first - no grinding. Eased foot and - HOORAY - Ive got a new clutch!! I drove around the block - the new clutch is so light you can depress by hand, using only your fingers.
I want to drive local for a few 100 miles, then recheck the major structural torques, but I think Im 98% done on the clutch job.
