Time to replace my rear shocks (confirmed by local shop). I can't justify the $500. I checked with the $tealership and have found that the correct part number (based on the VIN and an 8 digit # under the hood) is Volvo Part # 30736623
2 questions:
- brand recommendation(s) that is best bang for the buck? (I don't care about performance, or anything special, I just want something comparable to factory that is as good or better than factory, has proper fit, and won't cost me an arm and three legs. (And I don't want to have to replace them again in a year.) Googling that number, I've found shocks as low as $67 on FCPEuro (Sachs), and as high as $173 each (Local Volvo $tealership).
- Are there any tricks or special tools required for this job? It seems simple, but I don't want to get into it and find that I don't have the tools I need. local shop said there wee some special tools....I have not found a video or step by step specific to the 2002 V70 without AWD, so any guidance appreciated here.
Thanks!
Jonboy
