2002 V70 T5 Wagon mauual transmission

I have been having the warning - Brake Fluid Low but cannot see any visible brake fluid. Mechanic says he noticed fluid around bell housing and the clutch is hydraulic and uses the brake fluid so the leak must be clutch related. Does this sound right?
