I'm considering the same myself and put the car on jackstands today. I'm considering my approach at this point.
I've seen reference to inserting bolts from the back side to push the flanges apart but haven't started in on anything yet. Did you loosen the center carrier?

I did totally loosen up the center carrier, and I had watched Robert's YouTube video earlier in the day. Problem is, he doesn't really explain how he got the rear of the prop shaft separated from the flange. I suspect this is simply because it was not stuck as hard as mine is... I do understand that he disconnects the front first, but from what I've gathered, loosening the center carrier and leaving the front connected is sufficient to separate the rear portion of the prop shaft from the flange.
I've read about putting bolts in from the back side to push the shaft out of the flange, but in my reality that just does not appear to be very possible. I may need to evaluate that option more thoroughly tomorrow.
The Haldex 5 looks like the most beautiful apparatus ever constructed. I must have a 4 because there is NO way to pull the pump with the shaft connected. I believe on the Haldex 3, which is also very different from the 5, there is a cool trick to removing the pump with the shaft in place. If yours is a 3, let me know and I can explain what I'm talking about.

I just do not see how a bolt can be inserted from the back of the flange then tightened inward to push the shaft out. There is no room for that, as far as I can tell. Last night I soaked the whole area with a high quality penetrating lubricant, and this morning I pounded on the shaft as hard as I could while lying on my back, but it does not budge.
Is there an element to this equation that I am overlooking or just not aware of? I REALLY need to get this AOC pump out and replaced as soon as possible. Any magicians out there???

Okay, I wrapped a small chain around the end of the prop shaft, with a good purchase on it, and went crazy with my large slide hammer. Zero movement.
Firstly, I AM correct in assuming the front end of the shaft does NOT need to be detached in order for there to be enough movement where the rear will separate from the flange, right?
Secondly, I am currently browsing the Yellow Pages for a good local psychiatrist.

I thought about that using a cable , I pulled on the shaft by hand to see if there's movement.
The shaft moves inside the viscous coupler, so it might not work using chains to pull the shaft.
I'm considering a 12 inch chisel and 3lb hammer,
But had to use the car so its off the stands now.

I am trying to imagine exactly what you mean, and I'm drawing a blank here... Please describe the exact procedure with the tools mentioned, because I am lost.
From what I can tell, dynamite won't budge this shaft.
