hey, i just wanted to know if this manual is any good for me, i got a 1994.

also, my AC is starting to feel really weak, the heater still works but the cold air doesn't work that well, do you think that it needs recharging or more so that it needs replacing??

P.s i love this site!

Yes, this manual is great for your car as well....much is the same on your car and the '95....besides, much of the manual also references the '94.

Any chance of Volvo parts books being available on-line or pdf? I'm looking for part numbers for individual seals in the 850 steering rack.

Thanks,
Roger.

The manual describes the R&R procedure, and shows a view of the rack with components labeled, but no part numbers. I always prefer to call the dealer's parts desk with part numbers in hand, as I find service much better that way. Maybe with Volvo it's not such an issue? :-)

Roger,
send me an email with your volvo car's model number (ie: 850 turbo, '1994, etc.) and I'll look it up in my copy of VADIS and either send you the diagram with the seal #'s or post it here. badger36-at-knology.net (replace -at- with @).

Thanks for the offer. Lee helped me out already. The seal kit is 271600, and costs $261.90 from my local dealer. Individual pinion seals not available.

Thanks,
Roger.

You're better off buying a rebuildt rack w/ warranty from fcpgroton (in my opinion).

I'm up in Canada. Local price at the aftermarket parts place (PartSource) is $520 for a remanufactured unit. I agree a rebuilt rack would be best, but it's not in the budget at this point. I did find a seal kit on-line for a much better price that Volvo's. Here's the link for others that may be interested:

If I go ahead with the diy rebuild, I'll post the info up in a new thread.

Thanks,
Roger.
