Sprayed some silicone on the door and trunk rubbers, and into the seat belt receptacle mechanism as that was beginning to get a bit 'sticky'.

Drove 200 miles and back to a 30 year retirement dinner...70 mph under full moon, 31 mpg, 32 years of marriage and we still got the magic. Life doesn't get better.

Rotated -and cleaned- my wheels for the second time (5,000 mile interval) while the NYC Marathon started.

I managed to finish the Marathon in only 15 minutes - I could have done better with the 99 T5

I replaced just about EVERY hose, belt, fluid, and filter in my '03 S60 2.5T AWD this week. Including upgrades to the air/turbo intake system.
Then I drove down to Albuquerque and averaged 85-90mph for a full two straight hours! I effing LOVE my car!

I just installed the iPd skid plate on my S60. It's super burly! I feel a lot more confident driving in the mountains now. Rockfall protection in the summer. Ice chunk protection in the winter.

Did the same job, only I've used a knob from the S80 (with the geartronic transmission). The knobs are virtually the same. Side note, when inserting the knob into the shifting lever, the knob button needs depressed while the knob is strongly pushed down in order to fully engage it. I've also swapped the conical plastic pieceenriquepr21 wrote: ↑23 Dec 2016, 10:53 Replaced shift knob as the one before was in really bad shape![]()
Several Volvo Repair Videos https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... s0FSVSOT_c
Hi,
New to Volvo ownership although my Dad had two!
Just bought 2002 V70 D5 manual with 152k miles because my Toyota blew it's head gasket.
Must say very impressed to now and working through 'jobs'.
Today:-
Changed battery
Took fuse out of alarm siren as getting service reminder. Found lots of stuff on this and seems only good way is to replace. Will save up for that!
Repaired drivers door pull handle (superglue and extra screw).
Replaced cabin filter
Picked up front brake discs and pads, oil, filter and air filter.
This last week :-
Attacked (carefully) 'grey' trim with hot air gun and pleased that went significantly darker, bumpers better than sides.
Picked up bits from scrap yard including lower rear light. Is there an easier way to get these off without removing all trim?
Think it's going to keep me busy but like tinkering. Fingers crossed it doesn't have any major issues!!
Some advice from anyone? There is noise/vibration at idle revs say when waiting at lights that seems to be quieter as one pulls away. Is this normal or do I have issues with engine mounts (haven't had on ramps yet). I think the top ones are OK. There doesn't seems to be any rocking of engine when throttle opened.
It seems almost like a resonance vibration?
Cheers and thanks for all the useful stuff on the forums.
