DC resistance is something like 1000 ohms but I've found variation of 50-75% on working sensors

No codes probably means the ABS UNIT HAS pooched..a bad sensor or wire will definitely code

Following this topic with great interest as I just bought a cheap 2004 xc70 with same issue (among other things) frozen odometer, brake failure warning in display, abs light on. Seller said awd was malfunctioning so his mechanic "unhooked something" but all the fuses appear to be in place.
