Having some weird issues and I'm almost a loss of what this could be. Hoping someone might have some insight on my next move.
Last week my alternator died (battery level was getting low). I drove the car into the garage disconnected the battery, removed the alternator and sent it out for a rebuild. Once returned I reinstalled and as I went to start the car the key would turn but it would not crank. Started doing some investigation as the car started just fine prior to the alternator removal/installation. By bypassing the ignition and jumping the starter with key in POS 2 I get no bangs, almost seems as if the car is immobilized as two times (out of the many) that i have cranked I have gotten 1-2 bangs then the car dies.
Findings:
1. Starter is good - I can bypass the ignition and give 12v to the remote starter wire and the starter turns the enginer (still no bang)
2. By grounding pin 85 on the starter relay I can get the key to turn over the engine - seems to point to 2/76 the Central Locking/Anti-Theft Alarm which is not letting the key start
3.Immobilizer seems to recognize the key in VIDA and everything seems to be good there (shown in picture)
4. I have two batteries which i know are good and try them on the car when freshly charged.. not the battery.
5. I've tried unlocking and re-locking the car with the FOB to reset the alarm module to no avail.
I'm kind of at a loss of how replacing my alternator could have caused this issue.. VIDA also seems to thing that there is an issue with the CDM. Can the CDM cause a no start??
I'd really appreciate some help on this puzzle

Check your fuse 6 ( I think) in the under hood fuse box ...I’ll link to a no crank no start experience on my 99 from a year or so

Fuse 6 confirmed. If your central locking is working with the door button this probably isn’t it

Well for any one else who ever stumbles upon this post, I fixed my problem. I noticed when turning the key the ac compressor turned on with a loud click. Thinking this is slowing my crank I pulled off the serpentine belt, shorted pin 85 to ground from the starter relay, turned the key and voila the car started. Left it idling for a few minutes and now it starts normally without the short on pin 85.
Seems like for some reason the alarm locking module was not happy..

Drive it close to home until you can eliminate an intermittent fault condition.

Was looking at what you had posted. Looks like immobilizer is communicating with key without issue as you observed. The CDM000D worries me. Try removing battery power for ~10 minutes and see if that pops back up on next start.
If so, I would suggest removing battery power again to clear it and then attempting a normal start with tailgate open and see what happens. Occasionally the tailgate's harness wears to the point of a short - it is known to cause issues with immobilizer operation - which if I remember correctly is integrated into the ECM.
