Wisdom requires knowledge as a prerequisite, but knowledge can be developed due to a lack of wisdom.
In order to learn how to fix something, you must first learn how to break it.

Out in CA on family care mission.
I am a Volvo soft talker...the real whisperers know who they are...and are not me.
Somehow my oil leak problem seems smaller when one of my parents can’t remember my name

Although what you are going through must really suck, I am glad to hear you are able to spend time with your parents now that they need it most. Good luck and best wishes to you and your family.
Let me know when in Amsterdam (I am one hour away), I'll buy you a beer and we can talk Volvo and life.

Neil,
My son lives in Vancouver BC and I live in Pennsylvania USA. I am continually amazed at the difficulty that exists when shipping things across this one border, especially considering NAFTA agreements. I don't know if it is simply Canada's fault or what, but anything sent to Canada can often cost my son more in duties and fees than the object shipped is worth. I also am not able to purchase things remotely from CANADIAN vendors and have them shipped within Canada to my son. For example, I can go all the way through purchasing something from Amazon.ca including acceptance of my credit card info but then cannot finalize the purchase because I can only select PROVINCES and not states when I go to enter my home address.
Here we are again at Christmas, and we are stymied again.

I think that is an Amazon thing, as they do the same when I try to order stuff from Amazon.com. Many US dealers are under threat for shipping parts to Canad as we get screwed here for the same parts. There are a couple of them that will and I sue them when I have a big order or FCP.
NAFTA, we don't want no stinking NAFTA! Don't worry, your esteemed President is trying to fix that impediment. Many on the issues we have shipping to Canada are the costs that shipping companies (especially UPS) charge for handling at the border. Then add USPS to the mix who have doubled their charges in the last year to Canada. That is why I now use FCP as they have a deal with UPS which keeps costs down.
Happy Holidays and New Year when it comes!
Neil.
