I have a '98 V70 (bought in July) and haven't done much under the hood yet (most under the hood is surprisingly good.) However, there is a leak at the transmission cooling line where it connects to the radiator. I got a seal kit (O rings, retaining clip, clamp) to fix it. But there is a wiring harness/coupling above the trans cooling line making it look pretty difficult to get to the trans cooling connection. PICTURE ATTACHED. My question is, what is the wiring harness/coupling for and more important, is there an easy way to get it out of the way? I'm a little hesitant since it is old and may be brittle.
Thanks, dalel

The evaporation purge valve lives up there, Im not sure thats what that harness feeds though. The harness should unclip and love out of the way

1+, purge valve there.
- Circlip pliers to spread the retainer. Note the wider flange of the retainer faces the rad.
- Add a clamp to the retainer when done.

You can also add a zip-tie around the cage to keep in in place as a security.

No luck yet. The wiring harness doesn't go to the purge valve. Instead it goes across at the radiator and disappears down into a collection by the headlight. The harness seems to be molded onto a plastic bracket that goes forward toward the radiator. It is crazy that I can't find a screw, bolt or clip holding it in. I'm about to give up on it and just work around it. It would just be so much easier if I could move the wiring. Again, thanks for everyone's input.

The bracket if I recall is slotted into the radiator rear by the connector. It is held in place by one of the bolts for the radiator just above it. Remove the bolt and this bracket should lift up and out of the way with the connector.

While it appears to be in the way, it isn't really. Once you spread the retainer and pull it back, the cooling hose comes out of the radiator fitting easily. It appears that your leak is on the end of the hose, so a new O ring is all that is needed.

The first time you do any job it's nice to see exactly how you disconnect stuff and how it goes back together.
