Finding a 0-60 app is proving difficult

Post by matthew1 »

Anyone using an iPhone app for measuring performance of your car?

I've been poking around and I'm surprised there's not much out there. "Torque" app seems to have vanished. "Torque Pro" is written by a different developer, and has nothing to do with "Torque" app. I think he's an opportunist, using the name to sell his app, which isn't very good according to the reviews.

I'm looking to connect my phone to my VW's OBDII port to measure 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc.

I have an ELM 327 Bluetooth adaptor around here somewhere. I think that's the best (only?) way to connect to my phone for this application.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.
Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a kickback.

Torque or Piston (I prefer Piston)

Strongly advise the newer ELM with wi-fi for 10 little bucks, the old ones with bluetooth had big connection issues

I did a little digging and you are correct, the IOS apps called "Torque Pro (OBD2 &Car)" and "Torque OBD2" are not the same developer as the various Torque apps for Android (Ian Hawkins). I don't believe there was an iPhone version by Hawkins so a couple of d-bags have kidnapped the name. Sorry, I have no idea which iPhone app works.
