Engine swap
I own a 2001 volvo v70 xc 2.5 turbo ,(no compression # 4 cyl) can i put a 2004 v70 2.5 turbo in? 2004 wrecked but motor good.

Different engines when it comes to cylinder volyme and the electronics are different as well. They're quite a bit different to drive as well with the larger engine having a smoother power delivery and more power than the extra 10 HP suggest. So it's an upgrade but I'm not sure if it's at all possible to mate it with the cars electronics without doing a lot of work.

It should be a lot less work to fix the no compression on number four, unless one burnt a hole in the piston. At least pull the head off and find out what is going on before considering an engine swap.
