At 180k that's really smart. They get tired after 100k and will respond slower to changes in O2 content. The real danger is when they run the car lean and burn valves.

I went to 140k and replaced them

I know right? We've been geting a sporadic P0133 code about once every three months or so so I definitely think I need to replace my 02 sensors. But I have this feeling that if I try to wrench them off, the exhaust will crumble to bits...

Try take a long weekend and with 3-4 days offline, apply a good penetrating oil ( Kroil, PBB, Liquid wrench) twice each day, tapping with hammer. If you have a good indie, this is a good hour labour spent on the lift cracking these where you can really get to them.

+1 on using PB Blaster a couple times before you actually do the job. It feels like a pain to jack up the car and all just to spray some oil but they will come off like butter.
Have a rare day with no kids and few obligations so I should drain and fill my tranny fluid, but it’s 20 degrees so we’ll see if I actually do it.
I’ll probably replace some interior bulbs after I drive the car today though and warm it up. I had a license bulb out and I got a ten pack of led bulbs for like 4$, they should work for the overhead lights in the front.
Good interior lighting is underrated if you have kids, somebody’s always needing help buckling up or leaving a light on after we get out of the car at night. Which is a lot easier to catch with led bulbs rather than a normal peanut bulb.

jtp - does the 99 model do bulb current matching to detect burned out bulbs? I think in P2 models putting in LEDS can be problematic since it fools the CEM into thinking the bulbs aren't working, due to low current draw.

I only have the license plate light switched over so far and there’s no bulb warning, but one of them was out and I didn’t have a bulb warning so that doesn’t really mean anything
I’ll report back if the interior lights cause something to pop up.

Changed my struts- was -12 when I started but 0 when I finished, how on earth this happened I have no idea

Removed the original O2 sensors on the 98 V70, 180k, and replaced them with Bosch OEM replacements.

Did you have an engine code or other indication they were going bad, or was it preventative maintenance?

I am having codes for the O2 sensors, po131 and po141, and po136. As well as being preventative maintenance as when i was investigating the codes and checking for corrosion at the wires I saw these were the original O2 sensors with date stamped from 1997.

I am fixing this V70 up for my wife to drive and doing the plugs(few days ago), wires + dist cap (done today) and rotor when it come in tomorrow.

I’d say 21 years of sniffing exhaust gases on the underside of a car is a pretty good run for a couple O2 sensors!

The rear window in the soft top of my 2002 C70 convertible finally came loose on the outside (it had separated on the inside many years ago) so I have to glue it back in place. After much searching on this and other forums and youtube, I found that, in the US, everyone uses a 3M product that is pretty much unavailable here in Europe. I found a similar product, based on the same technology called Teroson PU 8596 that came in on Saturday. Now I just have to wait for the temperature to stay above 5 degrees Celcius for a couple of hours to apply it. It came with a primer/activator, so I have high hopes for a smooth and permanent solution. Will post the results in a different post.

One of the number plate light bulbs went out, so I replaced the trunk lid.

It took care of the rusted-through hole too, though I still have a little surface rust to deal with. The newer lid isn't exactly the same color as the old one but it's okay for now. And I quite like the spoiler
