Local dealers quote insane prices just to even plug in the laptop, so I'm trying to find someone else who will do it cheaper. I've heard there are a few independent shops around that do this, but every place I call either has no idea what I'm talking about, only has some "compatible code reader" and not a real Vida+Dice setup, or doesn't have the setup anymore.
If anyone has a working setup, or knows of a shop with a working setup, I'm all ears. North-west of Boston is preferred, but anywhere inside 495 is fair game.
(edit: rewording)
Anyone in eastern MA have a Vida+Dice I can use for a few minutes, or know of a shop?

The VIDA subscription isn’t cheap so I don’t think that search
I think my indie told me it’s $60 per day to run software.

Do you need DiCE+VIDA to read the codes?
For codes that can affect emissions, federal law requires open access. These codes can be read by any reader. However the generic readers do not always get the interpretation correct.
Generic readers may or may not be able to read manufacturer controlled codes. When they can, interpretation is often vague or dead wrong.

I'm located in Salem, MA and have a working VIDA/DiCE setup. If you're able to drive up here I would be happy to help. Send me a PM to make arrangements.Durenol wrote: ↑20 Jan 2018, 11:45 Local dealers quote insane prices just to even plug in the laptop, so I'm trying to find someone else who will do it cheaper. Well, I've got two things:
1) After replacing my battery I'm seeing some DTC errors in a few electronics modules in the hidden menu, but ODB scan comes up clean. AFAIK I need Vida to figure out what's going on.
2) I'd like to flip a few random settings related to the lights and stuff

I don't charge anything, I'm just a hobbyist/diy'er who happens to have the setup. "jonesg" here at MVS helped me out last summer with free use of his VIDA/DiCE, so I'm trying to pay it forward.Durenol wrote: ↑22 Jan 2018, 12:03 Well, I've got two things:
