He knows nothing about cars. Strike one. Didn't bother to google it or look in the owners manual, strike two. He's cheap about the wrong things...Strike three.
I put top tier premium in the Cirrus (Car I had before the Volvo) that didn't even call for it. Probably one of the reasons I got almost 200,000 miles out of that car where most of them end up in the boneyard at less than half that mileage 10 years earlier.

" illegally touching a New England player trying to advance the football"
Football is Mike's territory and he said Jax lost at the very end. I just serve beer and refreshments unless it's Superbowl. Even then I only understand the commercials. LOL

When I drove for the first time it was magical! I guess I have failed to pass on the thrill of driving and car ownership my elders passed on to me.

The boyfriend grew up in a household of cars that look to be run into the ground. So I don't blame him for his lack of knowledge. It's my daughter who should have known better, or at least have respected my wishes. After all we pay her way so it is not like she worked for the money. Half aggregation and half disappointment. Beyond all that she didn't even fill the car up! Who buys only $20 worth of gas at a time? June

$20 wouldn't even get you home again around here.. Well yes it would who'd fill up less than a quarter tank at a time..

Look on the bright side. She doesn't go for the most expensive stuff just because someone else is paying.

Personally I think premium fuel for stock cars seem like very successful marketing. We don't have anything below RON95 though which should be about the same as your 91 so there really isn't anything poor to choose from.

Regular gas over here is your RON 89-91, so it is suitable for rental cars only, unless You have a very un-June like right foot. In the last couple of years our grocery store has linked their loyalty to Sunoco which is 500 meters from my house, and RON 97 cost me about 0.4 Euro per liter. At that price, I'm using it in everything.

RON95 is euro-regular :-) RON98 euro-premium.

But at closer to €1,5/litre and ~€0,1 extra for premium.

You guys should move here after we let the Norwegians in. If you get a job, you get an opportunity to buy health care, too! What's not to love?

Heh, "buy healthcare"... :D What's covered in it and what's the price?

My dad just went through 7 hour surgery yesterday to have a tumor removed from his liver. Prior to that he has been in hospital since december 28th. He paid $0.00, though of course our healthcare is tax funded. Fortunately, it looks like a full recovery for him. Fingers crossed.

America is great, if you're part of the (upper) middleclass. I'd really hate to be poor in the US.

What would RON 97 be here in the States? In modern times 94 is the highest pump gas I've seen. I still remember when Sunoco sold 107 octane Super Premium. That was all that went in the old cars I grew up around. That gas even smelled good. Premium was always cherry red and unmistakable. My experience with Volvo turbocharged engines has been they run so much better on Premium. Also right here on MVS there is a burned valve database which pertains to 5cyl. The C70 has a 2.5 turbo 5cyl.

Even when I have a Volvo loaner with Drive-e premium makes a huge difference in the power meter topping the scale whereas the regular they come with only allows the needle to achieve 3/4 the scale at best. So there is a difference even the new car computers show right on the dash. Not to mention more powerful acceleration.

I gave her a real talking to to put it mildly. How lucky to get basically a new convertible for a first car? The lot is full of Honda, Toyota, Kia, and other cars which are likely college 1st cars. Not a Volvo or even a Beamer to be seen. She is not going to the university we wanted, but State college because he could not go to a serious university and she wouldn't go elsewhere from him. They both are on track to become MDs so I should be happy I guess... June

RON97/98 is about 92-94 in the US. So euro regular is 90-91.

What's a "un-June like gas foot" by the way? The harder you drive the more you get out of premium fuel. Which would help explain the OCIs as well :D

I'm not shy admitting the gas petal goes to the floor all the time in my S80. I love the feeling of acceleration power the T6 has. I would guess a "un-June like gas foot" would be some timid soul holding up traffic! Oh with June blasting the horn at them! June
