Volvo 850 t5 conversion
After spending money on different looms, I decided to speak to someone from megasquirt.co.uk. Has anyone dealt with any of these ecu's/products? What are the chances of an aftermarket ecu getting my car to finally run?

I haven't heard anything about megasquirts being used on an 850 but I think the 850 community can be a little conservative when it comes to modding.
The best thing you can do is talk with megasquirt. They make the ECU's and they'll be able to tell you what it can and cannot do.

I dunno, I'd still probably get the car running first.

Aye I spent some time going through it yesterday with a guy from there. Just thought I would see if anyone else has used one 1. I did get the car running today unaided this time, using the na wiring harness and ecu, but obviously can't run it like that

Erikv11, I've tried getting it running I've asked for help so many times, there is a few people willing to help, which I do appreciate, some that just want to voice their opinion and some that know how to do this but jus can't be arsed to help, I think the only way to conquer this is an aftermarket ecu

To be fair, you were asking about help for a conversion across varies different Volvo forums with the same result. I have never even seen a 2.5 10valve car in person, because none was sold in the US.
You have to accept that the answer is right in the engine bay and for that reason, no one on the internet can give you the answer you're looking for.
I installed a Microsquirt (simpler, cheaper version of MS, running on MS2 firmware) in my Dodge Omni GLH, works great. viewtopic.php?t=82740&p=450223
If I was doing the work, I guarantee the car will work.
The thing about Megasquirt is that you have to understand that every Megasquirt install is different, which means the issue you will encounter will be different from anyone else. You will be the designer, installer, troubleshooter, and tuner of your Megasquirt install. This is the forum you want to join. http://www.msextra.com/forums/
This is the manual you'll wan to read. http://www.msextra.com/manuals/
Read the manual before asking any questions on the forum, otherwise, people will just tell you to read the manual.
Here is my advise to you, if you can accept batch injector firing, you can use MS2 or Microsquirt.
If you want sequential injector firing, you'd want MS3.

Just hoping someone may have the answer, I forget this site is in America and you don't have the 10v, I've seen some write ups of 10v converted to turbos, but never a mention of ecu or wiring. I've tried messaging these people with no response. So I'm guessing I may be the only 1 doing this? I'll have a look at those links you sent and my next post will be to say whether I failed or succeeded, thanks

My 10V N/A had a completely different air meter and fuel injecton system and wasn't even OBD compliant- this would stop me from any sort of conversion as it would require new harnesses and loads of other things

10v cars don't even have air metering....MAF...they have MAP instead and IAT(intake air temperature sensor).
Maf= mass airflow sensor
Map=manifold absolute pressure
Ecu management is totally different and use totally different sensors,injectors,manifold,emissions system...and the list goes on...and YES ...they are OBDI only....they produce flash codes.
