replaced cam/valve cover gasket now car wont start?
My 1995 850 turbo was leaking oil and it appeared to be from the valve cover. I replaced the gasket which was a major pain in the a$$. Now car wont start. i did made sure the crank and cams were lined up correctly. Any idea on why car wont start. I am really hoping I dont have to take everything apart again.

I'm thinking you unplugged something when you did the seal work...check all electrical connections closely around where you were working.

If A-2 is 1-1-1, then it cannot be an electrical problem. It could be fuel related, so check your plugs for wetness.
Did you get the engine started just a little bit and turn it off? Or is the engine turning over rapidly like there is no compression? I could be the dreaded "lawnmower" syndrome... the lifters are partially lifted. In that case, just crank the starter for about 30-40 seconds to get oil pressure and get the lifters moving.

when we first got it together it did start briefly but we turned it off right away because we forgot to tighten the fuel line all the way. it didn't sound that good when it did start briefly.tightened up line and tried to start again but no luck. i will try again to build up oil pressure and keep my fingers crossed. i checked all electrical connections. all seemed ok.

I don't know if the injectors are the same in my mustang...But if I crack the fuel line and introduce air into it it will need to be bled off in order to crank. Or it will run extremely rough.

You started it briefly then turned it off....introduction of air as well as what we call "lawnmower syndrome" or vapor lock. I would turn key to position 2 and wait a few minutes, then make sure there's gas pressure at the end of the fuel rail (shrader valve). Then if it doesn't start, take each plug out, pour about a half a teaspoon of oil into each plug hole and try again. Don't know if any of this will actually work but I've heard of others getting vapor lock and this did the trick...certainly can't hurt.

i did turn the valve at end of fuel rail afterwards to get any air out and make sure it has pressure. I will look at the car again today after work I didnt get a chance to try anything yesterday. i appreciate everyones input and I hope I get car started soon. thanks
Just when I was about to give up on this car, I finally got it started. I took out the fuel pump relay and put a jumper wire in to test and got car started. it ran a little rough but did idle. Now for the bad news. It started smoking heavily from side of engine near firewall and started leaking oil even worse now than before. I'm really pissed that I put myself through all of this and didn't get the original problem fixed. Tomorrow I will get underneath car to find leak. It's starting to get cold out so without a garage I'm hoping for the best.
