V70 XC sunroof not working

So, after owning this car for many years, and previous owner telling me the sunroof just doesn't work, I finally decided to see if it was just the fuse. It turns out the fuse was missing so when I replaced it I tried to see if the sunroof is open. But when I press the button the sunroof goes back maybe half an inch and closes again. Anybody have an idea? Thanks.

Probably s broken track piece(s)
Stop trying, the more it moves, more of the cheap, plastic pieces will break.
Take it to a Volvo mechanic, he should know what to do

I was thinking that the reset is oversensitive. Because it's not like it is hitting anything that I can hear/see. It starts to open normally but there's some type of override it seems.

Too much drag?
Look up there and see if it needs clean up. There might be something jamming the track.

It has been shut for nearly 8 years. I'm going to look in from the top
