Hi all,
My '04 XC90 was backed into and both the front and rear doors on the driver side were significantly dented (no damage to body pillars). Considering i bought the car for $1500, body work and paint is out of the question. I did, however, find a local salvage yard that I can get both doors from for $250.
My question is how difficult is this job? I assume it involves removing the interior door panels, disconnecting the harnesses, unbolting the torx bolts and lifting the doors off. I also anticipate having to replace the front door lock and side view mirror with mine. Is it this simple or are there allignment issues and other things that will make it complicated. I am fairly handy and equipped with the tools I'll need (I think).
Any tips or direction to DIYs on this would be great.
Thanks

Haven't looked, and mine isn't home right now. If we're lucky it will be like a P80, they come off in about 5 minutes, door panel and all. If I get to look, I'll suggest, otherwise I'll wait for the sages to post

I did not remove the door panels for my rear door. However, on the front door you may want to swap the door lock. The doors are very heavy, it takes two persons to mount them. Then you'll need to adjust them at the hinge on the chassis side, it has two torx bolts and the hinge has three marks which may not align to have the door properly adjusted : it's a guessing game. Don't discard the old doors until you check everything works fine on the replacement ones (including the glasses working properly and the speakers.
