S60 Indicator Indicators!!! (2003)

Can anyone help me?

I have a 2003 S60 D5 SE which I am made up with, but recently the dash indicator warning lights and audible clicker have stopped working intermittently. The actual indicators outside the car are working fine, you can see them at night, or in the reflection in the back of cars in front of you.
However it is very disconcerting when on the motorway at speed believing that they are actually working.
