- Could be the bolt underneath the Intake Manifold, the bolt holding the oil dipstick.

After much advice, and additional diligence, I discovered that the "mystery bolt" attached the oil cooler thermostat to the engine block. At some point in time, this bolt was swapped for the torx and was tapped to accommodate this larger bolt.
