Synthetic Oil Harmful?

Nope. 0w40. 10w40 at least over here is usually semi synthetic.

Interesting, i didnt know there was such a thing as 0w40.
So what that tells me is that the oil must be very thin sometimes. Possibly for very cold weather use.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.

Thinner than 10w40 or 5w40, that's for sure. I use it year round, and I live in NC.

That's what i was assuming. So the engine gets the oil quicker in cold weather.
