So I just recently got a second car, a 1993 volvo 240 wagon with 93,000 miles.
My question is about the lighting of the controls for the heat, vents, etc. Are there lights behind there that are supposed to illuminate these knobs and buttons at night? I know that the rear window defrost, side mirror heaters, and hazards light up when activated, but does the rest of the dash light up so one can easily find their way around the dash instruments at night?
Any input would be great. thanks!

Yes there are small bulbs that light the dash, when they burn out it all gets dark. Carefully take covers off, or look behind with flashlight. and you will see these bulbs.... Dash ones are in small holders that you turn 90 degrees and then remove.
