Can you tell me how to make a few changes in my original classifieds post under FOR SALE? I've a mind to shorten it - and add a photo of the dash and engine.
Thanks.

Here's my thinking on this. Do four transmission drain and fills and an adaptation and see if it improves transmission issues. If so, advertise at $1500. If not, advertise at $1200 and accept $1000.

Edited to add:. Understand that with a 2001, you are significantly likely to have a b4 servo cover issue so drain and fills may be for naught. Also, be sure to use proper spec auto trans fluid if you drain and fill.

If one is going to try repeated drain and fills in the hopes of cleaning out the valve body I suggest one uses SeaFoam Trans Tune and Valvoline Maxlife Tranny fluid. The added detergent may free up the sticky solenoids if that is the cause of the miss-shifts. Why MaxLife? It is cheap and plentiful. Plus it is says (and in my experience is) a compatible fluid. I have used the MaxLife on three Volvos with the AW transmission and they all perform just fine having personally put 10s of thousands of miles on the cars. Do some digging and you will find others with the same outcome.

You need to let the SeaFoam do its work - so drive it a few hundred miles between drain and fills. If I recall correctly you can use an entire can or 1/2 can (read and confirm). Use 1/2 can drive it, drain and use the rest of the can - drive it longer and then drain and fill again with straight tranny fluid. Maybe redo after 5000k miles. This liquid mechanic may or may not work - but if that is all you want to do - it is only $8.00.

A B4 servo service is cheap. The part can be found for less than $40 at site sponsors and the job is not an hour of work for a shop. Plenty of write ups on doing the job and it is straight forward and not difficult. Like the other posters mentioned if the B4 is bad, no fluid is going to fix it.
