Re: Crazy Overboosting
On my T5 it was like getting a colonoscopy with a rusty wire brush. I vaguely remember having to turn one of the M6 bolts in 1/32 increments, clearance was really tight. The water pipe was in the way.

My understanding is the ECU limits boost in first and probably in second to protect the transmission from excessive torque, including manuals.WhatAmIDoing wrote: ↑18 Apr 2018, 21:49It is weird behavior, as I would have thought it would be the same in all gears. This is honestly really bizarre. Not really sure where to go from here.scot850 wrote: ↑18 Apr 2018, 17:22The standard TCv struggles to control past about 12psi. My 00 'R' has a tune, and it runs at 18-20 psi with the 19T turbo. It does seem strange that the 1st and 4th gears are ok and 2nd and 3rd are not. Cannot think why that would be as I would have had a problem with the wastegate or TCV would affect all gears as they all use pressure or vacuum.Neil.
