Breezed through the thorough (or, well, guess it depends on what you compare it to..) Swedish inspection. All praise and no remarks. Good to go for another 14 months.

Kind reminder: don't forget to check your spare tire pressure. I did inflate mine 2 years ago, yesterday it was sitting at only 20psi - nominal pressure for the spare tire is 60psi.

So my shifting does seem to have improved a bit now that I've put abut 250 miles on the latest (3rd) installment of c. 3.2 quarts of fresh Mobil 3309 ATF. The low speed 2 to 1 bang shift seems to have all but disappeared. I do think I'll change the motor mount under the crank pulley though along with doing an additional drain and fill. I am betting the engine mount is the original and the rubber bits are probably shot.

Replacing the rear plate lights wiring (this wiring is common with the trunk opening switch). Went to the junkyard and all cars have these bulbs burnt and corrosion on the sockets. I have been chasing a current leak for two years. Finally after two batteries and some alternators, found the culprit. Note that the battery won't discharge to the point of not cranking, but in the long term it will get damaged by getting partially discharged every night. Better test it with a multimeter in the morning: 12.5V and up - ok, under 12.1V - there is a problem.

Those rear license plate light sockets:
Need to be inspected frequently because the socket doesn't seat into the "fixture" securely. Moisture gets in.
All bulbs and sockets like dielectric grease. This lowers resistance, heat, warpage thus benefitting the whole system apparently.

Of paramount importance is the correct 5W5 (and so many other numbers) bulb NOT a 193 (3 watt) or 194 (4 watt) bulb. These older style bulbs have thinner bases and may light up when installed. They always shake loose and cause buzz and heat.
