20k miles since last replacement, along with original Volvo ATF, 180k on odo, new valve body, almost perfect shifting. This is not the first filter or ATF flush, the transmission was never dirty since I got it with 80k miles.
Magnet is weak, though still catches some worn friction material. Without filter it would land on internal magnets and inside valve body and its solenoids.
