I had a 1987 760 turbo... great car! What year is this one? If it is an 86-88, be aware there was a recall on it associated with the positive battery to starter cable. The cable is routed through a chase across the frame and vibration rubs the insulation and causes an engine fire. Sadly, my low-mileage '87 did burn in an engine fire but not because of this defect (I had already added insulation at this rub-point); but because of a similar poor routing of part of the engine harness that passes by the oil dipstick. The factory routing at this point caused it to rub at the base of the dipstick, out of sight and after 25 years of vibration and deteriorated/cracked wire insulation, it arced on the dipstick and went ablaze! Check yours!

I've seen this firsthand. My gf was driving her dad's 760 Turbo in 1999 in Seattle and she smelled smoke. Pulled over, right off the 520 floating bridge, and got out. The engine bay smoked like crazy until the fire department came and wrenched the hood open. Engine fire, FD foam everywhere, total loss.

Audimon, I'm not trying to kill your sale! This just triggered that memory.
