Saw this car advertised below. Initially shocked at the asking price, but maybe there is someone who wants a 850 turbo with only around 30,000 miles on it and clean condition for $6200 US ($8000 CDN). 1 family owned car from new. IT says AWD in the main description but lower it correctly states FWD.

Again not anyone I know and don't know the vehicle.

Nice car but for that price it's missing a pedal.

I find it hard to believe the original owner put that radio in. Looks more like a radio a kid would install. If the car has been through a kid it is not worth the money. June

Well glad to know I have gotten younger over the years! I have just fitted a similar unit to my 2003 Toyota 4Runner replacing the original JBL unit. I had it done by professionals but mainly as we intend to use the vehicle for longer trips so it has Bluetooth capability for 2 phones to be connected and you can program the steering wheel buttons to work with the phone portion to give hands free capability. It also has the option input for a back up camera which I am considering installing.
The reasons for my vehicle to have these is convenience of more modern technology and that our local drivers are mostly incapable of considering other drivers and drive like lunatics in the parking lots around here. Backing out is taking your life in you hands in a city where huge pick-up trucks, large SUV's with blacked out windows and mini-vans similarly kitted out make backing out a challenge for visibility. I had considered taking the recommended advice by driving safety groups to back into parking bays. Since that advice has been given the number of rear licence plates being stolen had gone through the roof to be used for crime. So the lesser issue is to back out of parking bays again.
I am all for technology improvements where they improve safety, but the vehicles have been mostly modified with reversible modifications if a future owner so wishes.
I agree with Erik on the left peddle being missing for the price, but that could be added with a manual trans, but then it makes the price just silly.
Recently I have seen several 850's for sale in our Provence with lower mileages (still over 100,000 miles) for $4-6000 CDN. I like 850's but even turbo's are not worth that in my opinion no matter the condition.
I read in the UK classic car magazines of the writers buying old Volvos/Mercedes and other vehicles 20 years old or older and putting a few hundred pounds into them and they are good tidy running cars. I have learned by experience (expensive) that you just can't do that here in Alberta due to no annual inspections. People do minimal maintenance and by the time the cars are 20 years old or even 10, they need significant investment to rebuild. It is now unlikely I will buy another old Volvo or other brand after this 4Runner due to this, but then I balance that around our low mileage and the inability of locals being able to drive/park without hitting your car (4Runner has 3 corners hit in 2 months!!). Maybe a real classic like a PV544?
Anyway, there may be those out there who like the old 850 turbos and are willing to pay up for them, but it is not me!
