Need 98 v70 hood and fender color code 428

Hey guys, so my Volvo currently has a mismatched hood and driver side fender, I figured I would just run it that way until one in the right color hit pick n pull... But I'm having a hard time finding a car this color. It's color code 428 "coral red metallic" I think it may have been the rarest of the reds for this car. Im Not sure when I'll be able to actually buy it but I figured is throw up a post and see what's out there. Please be certain that anything offered is color code 428. I'd really hate to not realize it's the wrong red until after its payed for or put on :$

There is a Red 1999 V70 at the Pick-in-Pull in St. Louis, MO.

Row 32, Date added June 6, 2018, that is last Wednesday. If I was you, I get there before it gets picked over ...
$48 for the hood, $36 for the fender $84 total.

Mon-Fri 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Sat-Sun 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
(Yard closes 30 minutes prior to store closing)

Are you sure that's the right red? I thought coral red was a pink-er color. That's the original color of the hood that's on my car now. It's since been painted to match the car.

The only why to know is to go there. Computer monitors do not excel at color duplication. Lighting can change the apparent shade of a color.

Very true. Just a quick Google search of this color brings up a few shades, likely differing due to the camera/light.

428 shows "Garnet Red" or "Coral Red Metallic." I guess that depends the year/model.

The 99 V70R is classic red 601, which is very different from 428 coral red metallic.

I think the name changes might have something to do with where they were marketed, different names for different markets. However if I ever get a free day to make it out there I'll definitely be checking the color code before taking anything off the car

And of course looking at the car in person is the best way to determine if the color is correct. If it looks right to you and the code is correct, you’re good.

Regarding the color codes, I think it probably depends on the model and year.
