New s60 is about to drop
Supposedly it has Polestar design without the Polestar name or price.
That's all I know/all they're saying.

I might dread driving into Chicago for awhile as I'm likely to see these driving around there (here at the moment), It'll drive me crazy every time I see one. Back at home I should be pretty safe from such torment. There are a few P3s in/around the home areas, but pretty rare to see out on the road. As the P3 S60 did nothing for me, seeing one of the newer S60s never fanned any flame of desire. That looks to change tomorrow I'm afraid.

If they don't have a deep metallic blue that suits my fancy I'll take that pretty dark red one they're showcasing.
Timeless, stylish, sporty.. well done.

Yep, it's a baby S90. Not anything we didn't expect.
Still, very nice. Volvo is calling it a sport sedan. Interesting.

Although I really find the newest designs attractive, am I the only one who prefers a Volvo built in Sweden? South Carolina for this car, China for S90. How about Gothenburg? June

On the bright side, if he whose name shalt not be spoken successfully manages to instigate a trade war between the U.S. and everybody else, the S.C. built vehicles won't be quite as affected by it: only those parts shipped in for assembly will be subject to tariffs, not the entire vehicle. I don't see Volvo allowing with shoddy quality/use of poor quality steel etc just because it was made here. It's in their best interest to maintain product quality equal or greater than what we have come to expect from Gothenburg. MBs built in South Bend, Indiana the last few years were known to maintain MBs quality standards all around.
Yes, this new S60 is largely a baby S90. That's the point- scaled down it looks quite sporty. And the S90 is one darn nice vehicle to begin with. But the S90 huge - like an SUV with a napoleon complex. A baby S90 fixes that for those of us who prefer things smaller and sporty.

I still prefer actual buttons like many other OEMs still have. When the touch screen goes belly up after 10yrs you won't even be able to control the heat or the radio station. I think this is a cost saving fail on Volvo's part. For me, this is a huge sticking point.
Otherwise it is a beautiful car, great engine choices. Interesting to see if they improved the chassis dynamics on par with the Germans.

Presently there are repair stores that replace a cracked or non-working cell phone touch display panels for ~$40-100, in ten years they will likely have added vehicle touch screens to their repertoire. Vehicle OEs do not make these TFT/OLED panels that are incorporated into systems, and never will. Sis has a Sony Vaio 'Flip 15' (15" touchscreen convertible laptop). The half of the backlight LEDs along the bottom of the screen (which are incorporated into the LCD panel) bit the dust. Sony laptop, touch display panel made by LG. The panel from LG cost about $100, I replaced it for her. Third party repair shops would have done it for around $160. Like Vehicle OEs, Sony official repair would have likely have cost as much as a new laptop, or around $1500 in this case. If you insist on spending $2-$3 thousand dollars at a dealer to restore/replace an $80 dollar touch display panel on a car that's out of warranty -and then complain about that excessive cost- There's nothing I can do to stop you.
