"99 S70, FWD, Auto, Base - Non-working directional

Directional on the '99 S70 has decided to function intermittently. About once a week it decides not to work. I have replaced the emergency flasher unit with a believed good junk yard unit. Any other possible causes? Defective electronic portion of ignition switch? Defective directional stalk?

Is it both directions, front and rear lights? Have you been able to check to see?
