To update the post, I am impressed with the Behr thermostat, it doesn't have the welded tabs like teh Wahler option. It is rated for 92C comapred to 90C which is better because I notice the car was taking a while to warm up with the Wahler even though it looked fine. The rubber seal on the Behr was very pliable and coated with some oil to keep it from drying out. And yes it is made in Germany.

You can get pretty much any make in a 92 rating, for the record.

Even the OEM one? I think even though it looked fine, my theory is the spring relaxed so that it opens too soon. Much worst for gas mileage.

I only found Wahler in 87 and 90, you may be correct that they don't happen to make a 92.
