Gotta love a new set of tires! My Columbas are wearing some partly dry rotted tires currently. That's what I get for wanting to "upgrade" from my out-of-balance Antlias...

Replaced the seized RF caliper and new flex line. Wanted the replace the flex line on the passenger side, but it appears someone rounded off the flare nut... great.
The one year old cardone rebuilt caliper I pulled is seized beyond belief. Even after pulling the brake line and the bleeder screw off, I could not get the piston to go back in with a very large C-clamp.
What a piece of junk. Thanks for the lifetime warranty FCP!
In celebration, I took her off-roading down a washed out road to my secret fishing hole (the kind of road you should only take a lifted truck down). With the help of some bricks and a spotter, it went quite well. Wonder how upset those folks were in their Jeep when they got stock bottoming out over the gully? Offered to pull them out and they weren't having it.

Lots of bad experience with Cardone. I'm definitely going to avoid them from now on.WhatAmIDoing wrote: ↑08 Jul 2018, 16:34 Replaced the seized RF caliper and new flex line. Hahaha, that reminds me of the guys on the BMW forum up north who always talk about driving their E39s in the snow and passing lifted trucks that are stuck.

Unfortunately the only other cheap option FCP sells is aftermarket Centric calipers. And I've had zero luck with aftermarket parts so far. Also seems like I may have bought the last Cardone caliper from FCP.bmdubya1198 wrote: ↑08 Jul 2018, 17:44Lots of bad experience with Cardone. I continue to be amazed by how well the FWD P80s handle snow, mud, and loose surfaces. Those Jeep people were not happy.

Solved two bad rear rattles with
1 Replacing the corroded rear bumper mounts
2 Replacing hardware on license plate holder with SS and putting Nylon washers under plate. M6 SS hardware - chinesium from Ace.
No more rattles!!
Rolled 700miles on my 99 to my 40th reunion. Best part was arriving at venue on my yacht. All the “ popular kids “ were old and worn out, all the geeks looked young, had money, and interesting lives.

Ndphoto, could you actually feel a difference? If this can't be felt, it's not worth to upgrade the better designed p80 hoses.

Noticed a high idle and loud wooshing sound while sitting in traffic. Boost pressure wasn't holding. Discovered the line from the vacuum tree to the evap check valve had slipped off. Secured with a fresh zip tie. Something I'll have to investigate further.
