Well, as you can clearly see, the brake pad is hanging way over the edge. If I've read the comments on here correctly it appears that US spec cars only had 2 rotor sizes available for the 2004 cars. So it appears that a set of 305mm rotors are in my future. Thanks for all of your help!!

Yes - what you have going on there is not right. Before ordering the 305mm rotor make sure only one caliper bracket is offered.

I can not believe my eyes - because of this I would trust nothing. If only one caliper bracket is offered then the issue is the wrong rotor was installed by someone that is very dangerous. The 305mm should solve your issues.

If you want to double check - measure the distance between the inside edge of the caliper bracket and the outside of the rotor. It should be at least 9.5mm. [Math (305-286)/2=9.5]

I'll be doing the brake job this weekend, I'll be sure to take some pics comparing the 2 rotors (new and old). I just hope I don't get chastised for the Brake Motive parts I'm going to use. Honestly I don't know how long this car will last and the bang for buck on the Brake Motive fulls set is incredible. I have used them quite a few times, really like their products and have never had an issue with them.

Their web url has been 'under construction' since 2013 (wayback machine), appears to exist as a placeholder to redirect people to their ebay store. The address listed is a UPS store. And Illinois secretary of state doesn't have any corporate, LLC, or DBAs registered under that name. They're not exactly making a good effort to at least 'appear' legit.

The set I ordered arrived today. These measure out to the 12" range as expected. I have to say, I wish they had plain instead of drilled. While I have never had an issue with their drilled rotors they still scare me a bit. These are beefy though, I should weigh one. I'll get that later. Saturday is the install day, I'm also BBQing a couple pork butts too.

The deed is done. The new 305mm rotors did the trick. Here's the breakdown.

I tried to line them up as best as I could, you can tell the old ones are smaller.

You can see the uneven pad wear, looks like an accident waiting to happen.

Front Driver's side put back together.

I figured a full set was in order, so here's a shot of the rears.

Here is the front peaking out from behind those wheels. Looks great to me!

I bedded them in and all seems fine, my pedal doesn't feel as squishy anymore and the stopping power is what I'd expect. My summer car is a 2017 Camaro SS 1LE, huge Brembo's on it, so my mind is a bit warped on how brakes should work.
