Cold Air Intake Routing on 1998 Volvo S70. Any insight ?

Post by Ajaga08 »

Thank you all for your contributions. I really appreciate.
My next project is How to properly route a Cold Air Intake as I earlier just remove the old air filter box and replaced with the cold air intake beside the battery resulted in P0172. I read that " not enough oxygen was entering the engine. MAF sensor is brand new Bosch.
Anyone with ideas probably with pictures how to properly do this to avoid any error codes ?

That isnt a lack of air intake. You probably knocked off a small vacuum hose(s) on the back of the air filter box, and the resulting vacuum leak is triggering the short term trim fuel code.

Agreed, vacuum line(s) probably off. Be sure to check the nipple on the end of the intake manifold too. Replete with pictures viewtopic.php?t=65002

While you are in there, I'd replace any vacuum lines that appear suspect.

By the way, anyone with ideas as to swapping a 2004 Volvo S40 with a 1998 Volvo S70 tires/ wheels ?. Both cars use 195/60/R15 tires
Just wondering

S/V 40 have 4 bolts instead of 5 and bolt pattern is wrong on 1996-2004 models.
Newer s/v40 2004-2012 have 5 bolts but offset and center bore are wrong.
So...they are not interchangeable.

Hi guys,
I'm trying to change All Valves and Hoses one step at a time and now I got stuck with these two strange Vales.( see attached photo).
Do anyone know where to buy those two Valves and roughly how much do they cost ?

Check valves, and I believe they are no longer available new. Junkyard is probably best bet.

Those are just one way valves....any brand or car manufacturer will do...just need to match the hose diameter.
