Where to get tires?

Post by matthew1 »

I noticed Made In Japan gets his tires from Tirerack.com. Anyone have any personal preferences? Places to avoid?

Online or "brick and mortar" stores.

They're for my 850, but I wouldn't mind just a general discussion of where you get your tires from.

I bought the wagon this year and took it in to our local Tires Plus store for four of their "Fuzion" brand tires. Price seemed right - not the cheapest and not the top of the line - but the aggressive tread design looks like they will be good in the snow. They give a nice and quiet ride with no road noise. Very good service at Tires Plus too, they had the tires on in about an hour and inspected the car for other visible problems. No high pressure sales to sell me extra "services" either.

When the PT Cruiser needs tires next year, I will definitely go back to Tires Plus and put a set of the Fuzions on it.

(Now the wagon has 223,400 miles - do these Volvo's ever die? It has a quieter and better ride than any of the vehicles I own).

I might try these Goodyear Triple Tred tires:

But I'll buy them locally.

I'll be getting tires from Firestone. $62 per tire (originally $89) after discount for buying all 4 at once. Add in realignment cost, overall decent price.

does a 98 s70 5spd base model need a rear wheel realignment?
