Headlight glass replacement?

Post by BlackBart »

I thought I saw a listing for the separate glass lens on the pre-plastic cars (2004). Maybe it was Voluparts? That would be good news, as complete headlight assemblies are usually outrageous. Even good salvage lights are pricey.

Does anyone have experience replacing these? Is there a caulking seal to be broken and re-applied?

Thanks in advance -

As far as I know they're lightly glued as well as clipped together so you need to heat them up so that the glass and seal is warm but not warmer than that it's still comfortable to work with.

Over here they're quite easy to find so someone over there should have them.

If you can find them make sure they are DOT compliant if USA car.

There are some videos. Clips and glue. I have done it on other foreign cars. Nothing complicated. Patience, care, and heat.
