Gold Badging on '95 850 Turbo

All of the badging on my white '95 850T is gold ( side nameplates, Volvo, 850 & TURBO at rear, diagonal on grille. I have yet to see gold badging on another 850. Was this an option for the '95T only or different years? Maybe it is something the original owner had customized? Maybe I just keep missing them or is this really a rarity...

I don't know for sure about your car, but I know about 10 years ago there was a big "trendy" thing about having the badging covered in gold foil leaf... it was a decorative thing, and was offered by a few detailing shops around here. It seemed to last a few years and then die off.

My green S70 also came with the gold emblems...slash too. I think it was something the dealer could offer if the customer wanted it.

These were all dealer options.
Cost about 10 bucks to do, added them on and charged anywhere from $150 to $400 (Lexus)

Thanks for the clarification JRL and for the photos MIJ...Is that gold ( metallic or a solid ochre ?) pinstriping painted or vinyl ? a dealer or factory option? What is the yellow logo over the side badge?

I think MIJ has prancing moose stickers/magnets over his side markers.

Yes...the "prancing moose magnetic stickers" which by the way have been lost in a car wash since the pictures were taken (I must get another set!!). The pin stripes are vinyl from the dealer. I just bought the cheap eBay grill and painted the perimter with gold paint. Btw, you can get the prancing moose stickers from: http://davebarton.com/VolvoPrancingMoose.html
