You can boast to your friends.

Hthe Pt and Ir ones last 2-3x longer but I don’t use them because I don’t want any steel plug sitting in anAluminum cylinder head for 50-100k miles without being removed.

once I remove them, I May as well as replace. The 2-3x life is not paid for by 4-5x the cost unless you Can find then cheaper than me.
I hate the added price, but the fact is I cannot find copper plugs anymore for less than the price of platinums at any local autoparts store. When I did the job, I couldn't find coppers available online either for less than $6 / plug.
NGK coppers at FCP $1.49
I see that now, but for some reason a few months ago FCP and anywhere else I looked was totally sold out of copper plugs. Guess there was a run on copper plugs in the summer or something?

Neil.
I use Lucas fuel system and injector cleaner/lubricant. Dump a bottle in once a month and/or before long trips. Seems to net a 1-2mpg increase, but there's so many variables that's hard to prove. You can buy this stuff in bulk at walmart which results in about $1 per treatment, vs $5-8 for the single use bottles.

I can almost be sure You have deteriorated Intercooler, and other induction hoses. Check between the manifold and Idle control valve. (small "S" looking hose.) You need to feel under and around all of them. A crack will not be visible, or felt until you do. Upper, Lower intercooler hoses.
ask me how I know. Look at my "Stable" below.
My most recent purchase, '96 850 R. Had an upper intercooler hose with the same symptoms I had found the cracked hose by" Goosing" the gas from under the hood. I heard it first and found it.
Replace it and a couple other soft ones.
Knocks me into my seat now with its Chipped ECM And muffler delete from the previous owner.

Oh, one addendum, Spray the crap off of your MAF sensor with MAF cleaner, Make sure it is Bosch and original part#. Do a test for codes on O2 sensors. I believe a page was wasted on spark plugs here, but plug wires should best be replaced with Bougicord (FR) which are original and seem to work best.

Ok, I had, had to read back to see that Your vehicle is not Turbo. I was under the impression that year GLT was LPT low pressure Turbo. If that is not the fact disregard my post of turbo hoses and just to the last.

The third car in line of my "White Fleet" is a '93 GLT, and which I had cut my teeth on. It has a maintenance log.

Once again Ben850

And good luck.

Ben, do you seriously have 8 P80ies as in your signature? Or is it 'just' the 4 white ones? What a benchmark. I thought owning 3 is crazy ... that R misses 17 inch wheels, though.
