Used oem behr.
I don't like to cheap out on my cars. I read over things 1000 times before I do it so I make sure it's right!

Will do! Certain trees are starting to change already! We've had some cold nights this week

Replaced vac line to the wastegate. The old line was cracked and leaking vacuum /Wastegate not opening was getting engine light for what I presumed was a overboost code. Light went away after I fixed the line.

You know, the car might float better if you put the kayaks on the bottom...

Fixed a huuuuuuuuge vacuum leak today:
The vacuum hose that comes from the intake manifold towards a T-joint was completely torn into pieces and ripped.

Put in a temporary fix because I didn't have the correct hose. The car drives much better and FINALLY passed the glove test!!
Super excited about this improvement, but still have to put in the correct hose: this temporary one will probably not holdup long.

Anyone know the correct diameters for these hoses? The hose from manifold to check valve is really thin, the hose from check valve towards T junction is thicker.

Check my cold idle thread from earlier this year, see if I snapped a pic of the hoses I used to replace same

If you can’t find searching with V70T5m56 in search string it is linked in my maintenance repair thread for 1999 T5 nautic blue

Found it. Hose sizes are on a piece of paper written in sharpie , second page thread

My hose was split in the exact same way as the one in your picture!
Great sketch, you have obtained many karma points for sharing that. Thanks!

Driving down some country roads this morning. Ran over what I believe was a walnut. The pop was so loud I thought the turbo blew up or I was shot at. Made me jump a good 3 inches out of my seat.

That hose in my R was in the exact same condition. I can only imagine the amount of Bastard owners with that same problem!

Put fancy wheels on my 850.

Apparently, the car doesn't like them, because immediately after I got sputtering and coughing like crazy. CEL came on with multiple misfire codes.
I never checked after I bought the car in the spring, but I pulled the cap and rotor and they are the worse ones I have ever seen. Same goes for the plugs.
