Hello everyone.
I got the head on and all torqued down.
Next is the top half .
I been searching and I've seen the cams wired to the top half of the head and installed that way and then seen some install the cams on to the head install the rear cam locking tool and then place the top on and clamp it and bolt it in...
Is one way or the other right or wrong, or are they both ok?
Thanks..

It can be done both ways but if you don't use the cam locking tool, pay close attention to the alignment as you bring everything together.
The cam locking tool is used to insure everything is aligned when the cams, cover and head are brought together. Also the cam locking tool it makes it easier to handle. With the cam lock tool, your juggling one aligned and locked assembly not three unaligned independent assemblies.

I hung them from the cover. The lock tool has a pivot piece in the center that grabs the upper cover lip, keeps the cams aligned as they press down and open valves, and is the only place you can hold the cover without sticking your fingers in the sealant. I used stiff wire to hold up the timing wheel ends - wrap around bolts in the hold-down holes.

Hey blackbart...
Yes I seen it where the cams are wired/tied to the top half along with the cam tool attached and the whole assembly lower onto the head.
I just didn't know if one way was recommended over the other....
I have to go with putting the cams in 1st I can't handle all that weight.
Come to think of it in that Video he made his own cam locking tool...
Right now in between rain showers I been trying to get the turbo back on to the manifold while I have the little extra room.
As Always thanks for your Input....

Hope it all went well. Done 15 of these heads, Never seen a bad piston yet from valve contact. And never seen a warped head even after some real hot cooks. Check used valves and lap them in well. An easy job really. I have come across 2 broken head bolts...both came out by carefully turning with pick..not seized at all in block.

Hi An R rated life
Im still at it.... So far its going good top half is Complete, timing belt, tensioner, water pump , all the cam seals .worst part was getting that rear coolant line behind the pass, side of the head... wish I knew an easier way.. but its done.
Right now working on the intake manifold .. And that wonderful banjo bolt on the underside. Ill update as I get more done.
Thanks to everyone...
