Has anyone created/come up with a bench test for the 4C shocks?
What I had in mind is - with springs removed
"energizing" or putting a simulated signal on the 'wires' - would need to know more about what the signal/power actually is - and testing for a change in resistance to movement of the shock?
I have struts out - previous owner says they bottomed out on bumps (springs and seats look ok), have another set of unknown condition.......and there are no 'codes' in the car scanned with vadis.
I am doing a bunch of restoration on an 06 V70R, so the short term goal is to get the car on the road and weed out any surprises before proceeding and spending full $ on a new set.

After reading through SW SP long thread - some comments suggest that the connector (2wire) is a duty cycle acting on the solenoid in the shock - 100% on is "soft" and 0% dutycycle is maximum resistance.
SO, given the 2 which I know are bad, I can diss-assemble them from springs etc and see if a) how they compare to each other, and b) if putting a 12v signal of variable switching makes either shock respond differently - certainly the most likely failure is the main piston seal so the variable orifice which the solenoid controls may not make any difference if the piston is leaking badly - we'll see.
As these are oil and not gas charged shocks, has anyone dissassembled - nicely - I may try to look at this but can't do anything before I remove the springs.
I may even go as far as dissassembling the "other two" I got and see how they compare.
