Today.... Today I spent a whopping 1.99 USD on the android app called 850 ODB-II (Xaiotec). Now I'm chasing down some DTC's for the fun of it... a little concerned with the EFI-112 error, but that might be due to the tune maybe.. or a result of the other DTC's that might need clearing. (PO455 and an ECT error.) /shrug. Still runs like a scalded dog though :)

I'll have to check out that app... pretty cool there's finally an app available for Volvos! It would be a lot easier to use that than to use Vol-FCR on my laptop.

The app looks really cool. Will have to buy the necessary Bluetooth dongle before I can check it out. What all can you do with it that you can't do with a $30 scanner?

With this app you can reset the service light without having to go to the dealership and pay a bunch of money. You can even change the service light interval for longer mileage oil changes. The mileage stored in the cluster can be retrieved which is great if you're like me and your odometer broke years ago. There is also a live data option for monitoring. These are the main features I use.

Yesterday I had my Volvo S70 on the (I think you call it a) carlift. While underneath the car, I saw that the rear shocks were a bit sweaty. And, I think the rear springs are a bit worn (the wheels on the rear are a bit sagging). My question for you guys: what brand of shocks and coil springs do you reccommend and why?

Last question: I was watching a clip from Scotty Kilmer on YouTube on scan tools. What kind of scan tools can I use on my S70? Is a EOBD II scan tool usable for a (older generation) EOBD system?

That is the exact one I use. But other models will work as well.
